I got this for my sister's wedding. It's kind of hard to see what it truly looks like in the photo the seller provides - but I wanted to give it a shot.This card box comes shipped in a clear plastic box. The box itself is a little over an inch thick.Take it out of the box and then you'll have to assemble it - which is very easy. You can do it even without the provided directions.You take the bottom of the card box and lay it down on a table. The sides of the box come in the form of an "Accordion" that you open up and set inside the box bottom. On one side of the Accordion, there are3 or 4 strips that you peel off, then stick the top end to the overlapping end. So there's no gluing or taping - it's already done with the glue stripes inside. Once you have that done, all you need to do it put the top of the box on. On the under side of the top, there's an envelope with a long rectangle card that has a loop attached. When not in use, you pull the card out so that nothing gets in the box. When you go to use it - like at a wedding you push the card inside the envelope. Then people can insert their cards/envelops inside. You cannot see through this box. The slit on the box top is just wide enough to stick in a good sized envelope/card , you can't see down inside the box at all...whether you're putting a card in or just trying to look inside. This comes with a good sized wide piece of fabric ribbon so that you can tie it around the box so nobody can open it without untying the ribbon.The size of the box is great for any party/wedding - or whatever you want to use it for. It's about the size of a hat box. You could actually use it as a hat box! It's the shape of an octagon and is 12 inches around and 12 inches tall and about a 1/4 of an inch thick. It's very sturdy - it's not going to blow over. Someone would have to use some force to crush or destroy it.I like the fact that you can't see inside of it. I also like that it's very pretty without any other decoration on it. The box has an Eyelet look AND FEEL to it so you could just set it on a table and go if you don't want to do anything else to it. My sister is doing a beach themed wedding so I will be adding a few things to the bottom of the box. I also like that you can use it to store items n after using it at your party.I think it's definitely worth the money. It's very pretty - exactly what I was looking for. I'd buy it again if I was planning another party- I'd even buy it just to put items in and store for a rainy day.I wasn't looking for a really fancy card box for my wedding, but I wanted something sturdy and somewhat plain, so that I could decorate it myself. This box is PERFECT. Not only does it it have a more interesting shape than a regular square or round box, but even without additional decor it is a nice looking box (it has a faint, simple, but pretty print to it which is hard to see in the stock photo...the print is appropriate for baby/bridal showers, weddings, etc). It also has a slot cover underneath the lid, so that you can pull it closed when not in use, or when transporting cards.The only complaint I have is regarding the assembly. It's not rocket science, but you are required to remove some adhesive strips from one panel of the octagon and attach it to another panel, to make the shape. I apparently didn't line it up correctly, because when I went to put it in the base, it didn't quite fit right. I got it into place as best as possible, then instead of removing the strip first and then trying to get the folded sides into the bottom base (that was kind of a pain, too), I put it into place, lifted it a bit to remove the first side of the strip tape, and then kind of "pulled and pressed" as I went. It's not quite staying on one corner due to my initial mistake, so I might take a hot glue gun to the inside, just to secure it well.Other than that, lovin' it! Can't wait to use it for my shower & wedding!This is a gorgeous and well made card box, perfect for my upcoming wedding in July. The box is fairly simple and straight forward to put together. It easily pops up and into shape when putting it together and then by using peel back adhesive you can easily secure the box in place both on the sides of the box and on the bottom of the box. It's a heavy cardboard, but it doesn't look cheap. It's got a lovely octagonal design and comes with the ribbon, cards and all the supplies you need to put the box together. The texture of the box is beautiful and the box is large enough to hold a lot of cards. It comes with a white ribbon, but I may also add a beautiful pink or ivory ribbon as those are my wedding colors. After I am done using this elegant box for my wedding, I plan to store all my wedding cards and memorabilia such as our wedding topper, ribbons a few napkins etc. inside the box. I'm excited and looking forward to my special day and I am amazed that I could purchase such a beautiful box, with all the supplies needed for under 15.00 delivered to my door. I checked in craft shops and local boutiques in the area and they were priced there at minimum of 30.00. All and all a great value and future keepsake from my special day.This thing is sturdy!! I got this for my wedding. Glued some flowers to the top decorate it and it looked beautiful! Simple and elegant. I thought it would be super cheap and I would have to rip it apart to open it, but no! It was easy to assemble. I used hot glue on the inside at the perimeter of the bottom to make it sturdy. I also put glue along the one edge side that needed to be put together. I did not put hot glue to secure the lid. It still held together all day and it was easy to open. I ended up saving it! Not sure what I will be doing with it next (the wedding was just a couple weeks ago), but it will definitely be used! It will be easy to take the flowers off and decorate it with something else for the next occasion. Glad I got it.This is a decent Gift Card Box. It is well constructed of thick cardboard. The outside is decorative and nice. The top and bottom fit well and it looks very nice and elegant. My only real complaint is that the bottom does not stay on very well, and if you bump it or move it everything falls out of it and makes a mess. I know not having an attached bottom makes for easier shipping, as it will lie flat in a box that way, it is harder for setting up and actually using. If you tape it together, that would solve the problem, but it would not look as nice, or be as easy to reuse. Overall it is a nice gift box and better made than a lot I have seen and tried.I bought this for my wedding which is in 2 weeks. It's very pretty- the box itself is quite sturdy, it all attaches via adhesive strips which makes it very quick to assemble.Unfortunately, mine has some manufacturing defects in a couple of the folds for the shape. I will just put those sides towards the back so people can't see it because I don't have the time to reorder I don't think.Also, the white ribbon it came with was dirty and had brown marks streaked on it. I will be changing it to match my colours anyways so I guess it's not a big deal.I just really thought for the price, that it would arrive in top notch shape, which it hasn't. I would advise to order ahead- that way you will have time to replace it should it be a little screwed up like mine is. But the box itself is very pretty with the pattern and the shape and it is sturdy- it would be completely perfect if it weren't for my small issues which could have been solved had I ordered ahead. Oh well! At least I can let you all know!Lovely look, really interesting octagon shape with a delicate pattern that isn't overpowering. I put a bow along the middle and some blossoms on the lid in my wedding color and it was a nice touch. The labels that came with it are really cheap looking, pass on those. Lightweight and sturdy but you'll need to reinforce the joints with a glue gun as the sticky tabs won't stay closed. Good price for quality, just a couple design flaws. If you're looking for something that isn't super embellished or gaudy/frilly/over the top. Nice clean lines and classy.Box was plain in itself, so we used our own ribbon to decorate it (purple) instead of theirs (white). It held up for the night, but be careful when transporting it, as the bottom doesn't secure very well and will most likely fall off if you don't support it. You get what you pay for, and overall we were quite content with ours. No regrets!While it would serve it's purpose as a card holder, it's honestly pretty ugly once you assemble it. I'm sure you could make it look nice by dressing it up a bit, maybe adding your wedding colours with ribbon or paint. However, the adhesive strips are not very sticky and so it falls apart when I move it. I ended up buying something else for my cards.Great one if you know that many people will give you cards with money on it.. Great to make things organize. ;) The only downside on this one, I had to use a glue gun to stick the sides. Because the one sided tape that comes with it is too weak to hold the edges together and it just falls apart.
