I've tried to use this punch with everything from light card stock (maybe 80#) all the way to light designer paper (about the same weight as typewriter/copy paper -- around 24#), and it's nearly impossible to get a clean cut. It usually takes 2-3 tries before I can get a usable medallion.I rarely have this much trouble with a punch -- and perhaps I got a "dud" -- but I'm not fond of wasting so much good paper trying to get a single usable piece for a card. What usually happens is the interior "bits" get punched, but not the outline unless I almost stand on the punch. Then getting the medallion out of the punch is tricky, since it's not designed to "fall through" the bottom. The problem isn't the "sharpness" -- it's plenty sharp; it's the force needed to punch all the way through.I'm considering returning this one.ETA: I did get one card made with it (see photo), but for every "successful" scalloped circle you see, there are probably 3-4 unsuccessful tries. I decided to keep the punch, but I'm still not happy with how it performs. It takes a lot of strength to get it to punch the outer circle correctly, and it still catches and tears quite often when I try to remove the paper from the punch.Very pretty! Easy to line up and see where you're punching when you flip it over. It looks great layered with a scalloped circle!I am not crazy about the design of the punch.it takes a lot of force to punch clean through unlike many of my other punches. I thought that going with a Martha Stewart punch I would be getting the same quality I get with other end punches but IThe punches it creates are very pretty, but the punch itself is very heavy. It does feel very sturdy, but you'd have to have awfully strong hands to use it repeatedly. Works very well for my purposes.Very, VERY difficult to use. The punched product is pretty, but it takes a strong person to push down on this punch. Was going to order one for my mother but there is no way she could use this.I don't know how much more I can say about how great these new punches are! They are easier then ever to use & have so many options of designs now it's crazy fun! Thankfully Amazon is here with lower prices otherwise I'm sure I wouldn't be able to afford as many as I've purchased lately.Wow, I just loved how these little small dollies turned out for my stamping project. Amazing how cute and dainty the are. This is a great Martha Stewart punch for your craft needs. I used them on my holiday tags.Yep, difficult to use and get a clear medallion, but it is pretty. This needs to be improved.Very Good
